Gingers, Heliconias, Anthuriums, Lava Rock Bonsais, and other unusual exotics that are hard to find. Of all the pages of plants we offer, this page changes the most. We are always coming across new things for the plant collector to try. Our inventory changes often so if you see it on the list and want it, dont hesitate. We are always in the process of adding more plants that we think are cold tolerant or easy to grow indoors so you too can give your home that tropical look. Gingers and Heliconia

Tahitian Ginger Huge blooms of red bracts that can get the size of basketballs. The photo on our "About the Garden" page shows a bit of the scale. Very striking. Like a red ginger on steroids. The culture is the same as the red ginger, good light and protection from cold. 3" pot $9.50
Pink Ginger A tropical classic and a favorite cut flower of forists. Tropical plant but can do well in pots if kept from cold and given good light. 3" pot $8.50

Other exotic plants

Noni Morinda citrifolia has been grown throughout the Pacific for generations because of it's medicinal properties. It is on it's way to become one of Hawaii's new crops, and it is sought after by people all over the world. Besides it's medicinal promises, it is also an attractive shrub and small tree. The roots are also an excellent source of yellow dye. 3" pots $9.00
Tahitian Gardenia This gardenia has very large pure white blooms that are a striking contrast to the large glossy deep green leaves. As with all gardenias it has a sweet fragrance when in bloom 3 inch pots for $9.50
Red Rhipsalis A fantastic plant that produces bright flaming red succulent leaves when grown in a sunny spot. It is an epiphytic cactus that grows along rock cliff faces or tree crotches in nature. It is perfect for a hanging baskets where the branches will droop over the sides creating a very colorful display. For a couple months during the year the edges of the leaves are covered with small white balls (inedible fruits) that add a wild contrast. 3 inch pots for $10.00
Zebra Costus This is a beautiful and easy plant to grow. It is like growing a ginger plant and does very well in containers. The plant sends out slender canes 2 to 4 feet long that are striped black and white creating a striking contrast. When it blooms it sends out brilliant orange cone shaped inflorecence about 2 feet high from the base of the plant. 3 inch pots for $12.00
Ensete superbum subsp. Thailand Also called the Rock Banana. A very rare Banana like plant from the North of India and Thailand. This Ensete should be very cold tolerant and able to handle a mild freeze. Young plants go dormant in winter months and reemerge quickly in the Spring. The midrib has a red blush on the underside of the leaves. A spectacular foliage with a short trunk and huge leaves like a giant Birds Nest Fern.

Tri Color Stromanthe A colorful member of the arrowroot family but not quite as tender as most with contrasting shades of green white and red in the leaves. Easy to grow and does well in containers in filtered light. Grows to about 2 feet in height. 6 inch pots for $16.00
Furcraea gigantea "Variegata" From South and Central America. This striking plant can grow leaves up to 8 feet long. The bloom can send out an inflorescences up to 40 feet high with strongly scented white flowers followed by many plantlets. Large in 3" pot $10.00
Agave filifera Outstanding small Agave with slender tightly spaced leaves and white margins that produce many long white fibers. Mature plants form a nice compact dome shape about 3ft. in diameter. These do not trunk and are great for pot culture. Sun loving. Nicely rooted in 6" pots ready to move up $16.00
Adansonia rubrostipa The Baobab Tree.This tree comes from west coast of Madagascar and is normally a smaller species of the Baobab family but it still has the unique swollen bottle shaped trunk. They are drought tolerant once established and need very little care. These are very popular specimens for growing as bonsai plants for people with limited space. Needs a lot of sun. Please note that these will go dormant and loose their leaves from November through June.

Lava Rock Bonsai An excellent gift from Hawaii for the person that doesn't know how to grow plants. Dwarf schefflera growing on a Hawaiian lava rock, Very easy to grow. They get better looking the older they are and will grow and thrive for years on their little piece of Hawaiian lava.
Green Ti plant cuttings One of Hawaii's most useful and beautiful plants. It is also a symbol of good luck. These can be grown easily in full or partial sun. Bundle of 5 cuttings $7.50.
Purple Kahili Ti plant cuttings Deep purple mini ti leafs tightly spaced and stay on the stalks for 3 or more feet. An excellent Ti for pot culture. Grow in full sun for the most color, but does very well in filtered light too.. Bundle of 5 cuttings $7.50.
Mahi Pink Ti plant cuttings A beautiful pink ti with very light almost white emerging leaves turning brilliant pink and green. The underside are a darker smokey pink. Excellent contrast. Grows best in bright filtered light but will tolerate bot full sun and shady conditions.Bundle of 5 cuttings $9.50.
Aunty Lue Ti plant cuttings Bright red ti leaf of medium size. Grow in full sun for the most color. Bundle of 5 cuttings $7.50.
